Gold Rush

Traditionally, our people didn’t have a need for gold because it was seen as belonging to the earth. Our people participated in the gold rush and benefited from economic activity. We also fiercely resisted the damage to the environment.

Our People played an important role in the gold rush.

Our Elders stopped the mining of any gold down on that lake.
