Cody Walker is a proud Yuin and Bundjalung man whose life bridges the worlds of sport and community leadership. Growing up in Nowra and the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, Cody developed a love for rugby league that would take him to the highest levels of the game. Since his professional debut in 2016, he has played over 200 top-grade matches, earning recognition not only for his skill on the field but also for his leadership and mentorship of younger players.

Cody’s influence extends far beyond the game. He has represented Aboriginal communities through programs like the Indigenous All Stars and has taken on mentoring roles to support emerging Aboriginal coaches and athletes. Through these efforts, he helps create pathways for young people to pursue their passions while embracing their culture and identity.

Off the field, Cody is a strong advocate for Aboriginal youth and community development. As a leader with the First People Project, he mentors young people, supports education and employment initiatives, and encourages others to dream big. He is also involved with programs that promote wellbeing, cultural pride, and leadership within both sporting and local communities.

Cody Walker is known not just for his achievements in rugby league, but for his commitment to passing knowledge forward, nurturing the next generation, and strengthening cultural connections. His story inspires young people to follow their dreams while staying grounded in their identity and community.
