Invasion Day / Survival Day
For Yuin People, January 26 marks a day of mourning and is a celebration of our survival. Initially local people protested and resisted the celebration of Australia Day. Today it is embraced as an opportunity to unite people through reconciliation and truth telling.
January 26 is a day of survival and mourning.
