Patricia Ellis OAM talks about the methods used by invaders and settlers to prevent cultural continuation. She shares the heavy history of cultural genocide and discusses some of the long-term impacts it has. Patricia explains that the settlers had no understanding of how Aboriginal culture worked, or the ways Aborginal people are deeply connected to the land and so, were assumed to be primitive.
